As above, although I haven't used my Canon 50d for a while, I took some test shots with it today with my Sigma 150-600. On attempting to import the files to LR 4.4 which I use for everything and have done with the 50d previously, it has stopped recognising any of my raw files!
On import, it just doesn't see them. I can import them via DPP but LR still won't see them in the imported folder.
Any ideas?
You don't seem to have drawn any responses to this question, and I'm not sure I can be of much help, but I'll offer a few ideas.
Are you importing from a card reader or direct from camera?
Some cameras need to be set as a "Mass storage device" in order to be accessed.
I assume you can import .CR2 files from another camera, and it's only the 50D you're having the problem with?
I know Lightroom can be a bit picky about recognising folders and I always import with LR, so that it can keep a track of where I'm putting things.
I always use > Import > Add > to "My Catalog" settings when I import.
My folders are arranged by Camera - Year - Date so I need to make sure I import into the correct folder for the camera I'm using.
If you import with DPP you then need to import the folder into Lightroom, since it won't update automatically.
Under "File Handling" in LR I have "Build Previews > Standard" and "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" checked.
Apologies if the above is stating the bl**ding obvious, but other than a fault within Lightroom, I don't have any other ideas.
The last resort might be "Reinstall Lightroom" but I'm sure you don't want to have to do that.
