LR 4.2 released.

Ahahaha... What's 3 between friends! Edited accordingly...

Release notes:

Stacked photos get hidden in both the Grid view and Filmstrip. This occurs when photos get unstacked as a result of enabling auto-stacking.
Folder stacks with virtual copies get unstacked when moving to another folder.
When scrolling through the filmstrip (at somewhat fast rate), occasionally a “gray” image is displayed for an instant and then replaced by the correct image preview.
The Navigator Panel in Map does not pan correctly.
Parents and synonyms of “do not export” keywords also do not export.
Unable to publish videos to Facebook.
Audio does not play in video files after creating a slideshow that contains music (Win 7 only).
Image select arrow on keyword list doesn’t display when keyword list contains a large number of keywords.
Unable to edit Lightroom photos as jpegs in Photoshop Elements.
Carriage Return in either the Title or Caption field invalidates a Flickr upload.
Tether capture bar disappears after deleting photo (Win only).
Back Cover of Book layout has Horizontal text on spine rather than Vertical.
Sharpening was not applied to books that were exported as JPEG files.
Double-byte characters were not exported to Books saved as PDF files.
Unable to type accented character in book module in LR4.
Luminance Noise slider is unresponsive when Clarity is greater than 0.
Develop keyboard shortcuts (+ and – keys) no longer work in older process versions such as PV2010.

No mention of any speed increases :(

Are the release notes things they've fixed or things that still happen?

James can confirm this but from what I read this is a list of bugs that have been fixed.

There's one they didn't fix that might be a feature rather than a bug. If I'm in Library view and I drag a load of thumbnails into a different folder, every now and again I get a message that one photo can't be moved. Yet if I try it again, it moves without problems.

And there was one in 3.6 that carried over to 4.1 that I haven't had time to check in 4.2 and it's if you tab from the File Name field through the Copy Name field into the Title field, it would often replace any existing title with the title of another photo. I could never work out what the relationship was between the current photo and the one from which it got the title. I wonder if anyone else has seen this behaviour?

Yeah the release notes are things that had been fixed

There's some talk amongst people who know these things that there have been some speed increases.

You know, to fix the speed issues that Adobe deny exist. Just like 4.1.

Too busy to try new version ATM.

Off course there is a very strong possibility that this is just a coincidence but I downloaded and installed the windows version last night and this morning the computer would not start up.

I had to go to the restore point just before I installed LR 4.2, has I said probably coincedence but I am loath to try it again.

Probably is a coincidence. I updated earlier today without a hitch.
