Anyone else go in for this? I usually put a few in on the off chance and never get anywhere, but i had a couple in this year that i had real hopes for, guess the judges thought not. Got my email last night saying thanks but no thanks.

This was the one i was pinning my hopes on, got a large print on my wall of it and i love it.

Ah well, i'll be back next year :) Also if anyone knows somewhere that has Book 2 in stock then let me know, its out of print right now and Amazon sellers are asking stupid prices.

If anyone got an acceptance email then feel free to boast too :)

Hard luck, keep trying! It is swings and roundabouts - I have had two e-mails in the last couple of days - one to say that the IGPOTY macro project doesn't want my contribution, and oen from the BWPA to say my shortlisted photos aren't going any further (was dead chuffed to have had two shortlisted, mind you!).

Surely if this for LPOTY to have a chance of winning you need to either photograph something which isn't a landscape and/or photoshop the living crap out of it ;)

I'm still miffed I can't enter IGPOTY as I work for the RHS... mutter mutter mutter.

Should never be disheartened to get rejected.
I entered 7 for the first time this year and one has been shortlisted but my favourite landscape did not make it.

I don't know how they judge the first round but considering the number of shots they must have to get through I would have thought they can only have a few seconds on each image and if it does not have wow factor for that judge in those few seconds it will be rejected.

well done for the shortlist :) fingers crossed for you!

I know what you mean about the time they have in round 1, they must zip through them, at least this year they upped the max size to 1200 which helps a lot.

I am 2 for 2, entered twice, rejected twice! May go for the hat trick next year, but probably not. I have to say though, I thought last years winner was pretty poor as a winner of a national landscape photography competition, so I am quite looking forward to see the winner this year.

Also well done on the shortlist those who did make it.

I don't know who decides who gets to panel those crammed-together-letter-title groups, but they're nowt but elitists.

I have to say, that's a fantastic shot!
