Anyone else use these?

i normally use photobox but after having probs with the prints they have been sending me. im looking elsewhere.

Are the prices more expensive...? it just seems all to complicated.. or is it just me not liking things being simple.

regards...

not tries loxleys but look at DSCL (DL Colour Labs) they have VERY fast turn around and are VERY VERY cheap 50p for a 12x8....!

Loxley are more expensive, but TBH every print is perfect so I'll pay the extra.

I was a little confused with their ROES software the first time I used it, but it's actually incredibly easy once you get the hang of it.

The windows that open are (from the left):

Image size options
Preview pane
Folder contents
Product options

In essence, you need ot start the ROES software and then, in the main box select the 'Folder' button which will then allow you to navigate to the folder on your hard drive that contains the photo you want to print.

Select that and you will see all the jpegs in that folder that you can choose from to print.

Now, using the box on the left, select the image size you are intending to print to and this will give you a blank white box in the second window. If need be, you can hit the 'Rotate' button to change the orientation.

Then you simply drag the photo you want to print over the white box and let go, and it will show you what (if any) crop there will be. Then click 'Add' under the white box to add it to your order.

Repeat this for all the photos you want to add (you can do i using different print sizes and folders) and then click to continue at the bottom of ther main window (I think it is 'Complete order' or something like that?)

You then go through the upload process and complete your details and the photos turn up on your doorstep a couple of days later.

I hope that helps, but let me know if you need any more help.

I've never ever had a bad print from Loxley, not even one!

I tried Photobox for my first online print. It came the next day, colours fine but with what appeared to be the indentation of a nail on the print. Rang customer service, very apologetic, and the print was replaced. This time, 2 nail indentations:bang:

I gave up at that stage:thumbsdown:

i had a few prints sent out the other day which i was selling and then when i got them my signature in the corner had been cut off.

i sent 4 emails and no response so this morning i waited or 20mins to speak to someone on the livechat.... they basically didnt believe me and wanted me to send them back to them for investigation.

pathetic really.. hence why im looking elsewhere...

Also ive never heard of colourworld where are they? and ill have a look at DCL...

Or if you are doing anything bigger then i can personally recommend togsprint. Great personal touch as they are a small company and very good prices on larger prints.

I wanted to try Loxley, but didn't get on with the ROES software (never have), what's wrong with good old FTP? At least OneVision offer both...

The software is a little clunky with Loxley.
I have just had my first album come back from them. Took 4 working days, (it arrived on the 4th), which is brilliant.
There was unfortunately a mark on one of the pages, which they believed immediately (sent a quick photo to prove, why didn't the guy with the signature problem do that?), and have arranged for a pickup by courier from me, to them for that page to be replaced, no hassles.
Other than that, the product was very professional, and looked exactly as I expected it to from the ROES software.
The only thing I would say, was that the ROES was a little slow, but I was dealing with 10Mb jpgs, from a networked server.

I used DSCL for some prints to enter in to a competition for my local camera club. The quality seemed fine at first but I mounted them on mount board the way I always have, handed them in for the competition and a month later when they came to be judged the paper was all warped and wrinkled because it was far too thin. Mine were the only prints it happed to so it certainly wasn't down to the conditions they were kept in because all entries are kept together. I won't be using DSCL again.

For this months entries I've used Aldi and the quality of the paper they use seems to be a lot better. I'll wait and see how they look in a months time though.

how much did aldi cost?

Aldi are not bad but nowhere near the quality of dscl and certainly not Loxley but then they are less expensive.

+1 for Loxley. Not had a bad print from them and they've always been helpful when contacted directly.

Why not ring Loxley and let them talk you through any problems you have. They have the best customer service I've ever used.

I know it seems like it's not worth the hassle Andi, but trust me when I say that once you know how to use their ROES software, you won't regret spending the time getting it working.

As I say, I struggled at first, but a call to Loxley soon got me up and running and I've not looked back.

It's so quick and easy to order prints now that it is almost part of my workflow.

(And no, I'm not on commission!)

I'd be reluctant to use anyone other than Loxley, ROES and LDP are excellent, once you get used to them. The quality of the prints and products is always superb, and their customer services are second to none!

:plusone:

Loxley Customer Service is second to none in my opinion. I have had loads of albums done by them, I use their framing service, and they do all my prints ( especially my personal ones ) and everything comes back spot on. They even phone you to check when something seems wrong. I've had them come back and ask if I REALLY wanted them to not colour correct one album I sent as it looked very 'green' only to get back to my Mac and re-calibrate the screen to see... green. They've also phoned to check some photos as they looked to have a colour cast. The cast was intentional but how many labs would phone to check?

another vote for Loxley here - excellent in every respect.

DSCL for me.......never had a bad print........always delivered in a couple of days even when ordered 50 12x10.

Peak imaging are also good but similar pricing to Loxley.
I'm not a great fan of the ROES system but use it from time to time.

+1, even to the point where their customer services set up a web ex for me to talk me through exactly what I was doing wrong

I use Color World Imaging, you should consider giving them a try. The quality of the prints is excellent, although their turnaround time is quite slow compared to others. However you can pickup your prints and save on postage, which is always a bonus.

Even with the best paper there is a chance of that happening, the best way to solve it is to "T mount" the print, so that it is only attached to the mount on one side, meaning it is free to expand/contract at a different rate to the window mount and backboard.

i am going to give Colourworld Imaging a go as its only a few mile from myself.. if i do encounter problems i will just go direct to them and speak face to face... unlike photobox who have now fobbed me off 3 times...

Loxley has a new problem for some - me included - if you use Orange broadband their ROES system doesn't work!!!

So today I've had to email them a print order :bang:

But Audrey, who I called about the issue, said she'd personally look out for my order and process it herself for speed - can't fault that :)

found colourworld to be very helpful. Prints were excellent. I also ordered an ice block which I was not happy with, but they have agreed to redo so excellent service.

I can't get Loxley to work on my Mac and firefox or safari

Is it actually an app that you download or is it on online application ? I was confused that their emails keep telling me that I can download it but when I'm logged in I can't see anywhere to do so...

Mind you I use a Mac too so maybe thats why !
