Looking to purchase a flipside bag as like the idea of the extra security in crowded places from having a bag that cant be accessed while its on my back.

What im wondering is what would be the best bag to get to fit:
Canon 50D with Tamron 28-75mm fitted
Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 70-200mm 2.8
Flash
Spare cards and batteries

Id rather the smaller the better so would prefer the 300 but want the kit to fit comfortably.

i loved my flipside 400- i part ex'd for a bigger bag and now wish i'd partex'd a different bag instead- i miss my old 400...

Look at it another way, you WILL be buying more kit :D:D:D

so the bigger bag is future proofing lol

Haha no I need to use my self control......

I'll prob use a large shoulder bag to hold everything if I buy more but im looking for the flipside as a go every where bag, a lens for every scenario and the camera and flash. So the smaller the better really but just not sure if the 70-200 would be too much for the 300.

I use 300 for urban

And 400 for birds/outdoor

I've used the Flipside 400 AW for years now -excellent bag.

I'd consider the larger 400 AW over the 300, you can pad out any free space with hat, gloves or even a roll of bubble film!
Suggest you find a shop where you can try out your kit in the bag for size.

For me, as soon as a 70-200mm came into the reckoning, there was only one choice.

When you need to get a full load of camera kit on board, you have the room ready!

Full (of camera kit only), any bag weighs a ton!

There is a rear compartment that can be opened from behind, but your main storage area remains secure while wearing this bag.

I've had both, still got the 300. The 400 was very good with one fatal flaw (for me) - you can't remove the waistband flaps, and I found that they just got in the way too much as they are fairly large and bulky. Extremely comfortable when you're wearing it, but they are a bit of a nuisance the rest of the time.

Ive got both, and much prefer the extra size and flexibility of the 400, although the 300 does have a handy zip up pocket inside for things like leads, batteries etc. I bought them mainly for the security aspect, although my 400 also has a nice padded waist strap the 300 doesnt.
Usual load is 7D with Sigma 120-400, 10-20 and kit 18-55, batteries and filters.

No drinking bottle holders on the 300, completely different bag really to the 400 and a lot depends what you want it for
