Be completely honest here...........whats the lowest shutter speed YOU can go to and get a spot on shot, handheld...I can get them at 1/60 but going to try 1/20....f10 next time

It depends on the focal length of the lens, but with a 50mm, I can just about get 1/30 second. With the 16mm and 20mm, 1/15 at a pinch, but I'd only do that if I had something to lean on and I had no other choice. This would also depend on how much I had the night before.

Here's an 112mm at 1/60 from this arvo, manually focused, too:

I've got quite a few 1/8. And a very respectable but not pinsharp 1/2s taken at 12mm

@50mm on 35mm, I reckonned to be able to get down to 1/30th with a fair degree of consistency but that was 30 odd years ago! Now, I think the reciprocal of the focal length rule of thumb is probably closer to the truth (unless VR/OS is available).

Using a camera without a moving mirror (such as my Rolleicord) easily 1/30, sometimes 1/15.

With a moving mirror then 1/60.

Steve.

With the 17-35mm on the D2x I could hand-hold to about 1/8th sec...fine as long as the subject didn't move during the exposure...
Not perfect every time, maybe...but say 80%...

I'm somewhere in the same ballpark, maybe down to 1/15 @ 28 - 50mm if I had something to lean on, but not guaranteed. Again, this was a long time ago, and I haven't tried it in recent years (decades?).

... and an off-duty female CIA operative got you to delete the image

I may try for 1/30 at the prop aircraft if the weather is fine next weekend but I think this may be cutting it a bit fine if they are flying low and quick

my personal best was 1/30th @ 200mm in a pub raping
unusual type of photography!

I shoot at 1/60s quite often but can go lower. however, it entirely depends upon the subject. recently, shooting with a flash I was still shooting at 1/120s or 1/200s because the fighters were so far.

obviously 1/60 is fine on a 30mm or something but 1/60 on a 150mm with a 1.6x crop is going to be much harder!

Impressive. The last two car pics - the graphics on the cars. Reversed???
