Hello to everyone, I'm Nick a caver potholer and miner so most of my work is in places where 99% of you more than likely will not go.........dark is not the word !.

So far I am running a Olympus 1030sw due to the nature of getting wet/muddy/very cold more wet and even more muddy if that's possible !.
I use several different hand fired flash guns to gain photos of what I am wanting but some times in the larger caves light from flash guns just does not cut it. I never use the flash on the camera as all you get is flash back from dust in the air or water in the air from breathing or the damp. The largest flash I have at this moment in time is the DOI D45-AT with it's own dedicated power pack taking 6 c cell batteries (old but most of the time works a treat).

So I am now wondering if there is any larger flash gun on the market !, to be honest i would prefer old flash guns as they don't seem to like caves.....thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this subject !.

Oh i also use several torches rainging from 300 lumens :) to a 1800 lumen

Welcome, Nick. I remember many years being taken down a cave somewhere east of Ingleborough - fascinating.

Sorry can't help you with a flash, but looking forward to seeing some of your photos of caving.
