Can anyone recommend a good low light / night time, photography book planning a trip to Iceland to catch the northern lights in October so as I’m going to be out in the dark I thought it was a god time to try some low light stuff.

I've got Lance Keimig's "Night Photography: Finding your way in the dark", which seemed good when I read it - but I've not subsequently had much opportunity to put theory into practice, so it may just have sounded good and be rubbish advice  :$

One thing I would say is that it spends a fair bit of the book on things such as light painting, use of flash, etc. which are rather less applicable to photographing the Northern Lights.

I am also off to Iceland this March, btw. From general reading the 'trick' is to use fast, wide lenses, and exposures of 30s or so, and have plenty of spare batteries on hand :)
