Hi i am trying to upgrade my lenses would people say it's better to get a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 or a canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM?

Really depends what you are shooting. If it's moving things (sports) or low light shots, then the f2.8 will be more desirable where you will need a fast shutter speed. However, if you tend to shoot static or slower moving objects, then I suspect the Canon will be sharper.

What do you intend to photograph? Do you need an extra stop? The IQ of the canon is supposed to be better so is the extra stop important to you?

As above ;)

I cannot comment for sports, but for wildlife the Sigma 150-500 OS or the Canon 100-400 have the reach you'd be looking for, however if you're loaded some use the Canon 70-200 2.8 + 2xTC, but that really is expensive

There are two Sigma 20 - 200 f2.8 lenses, the HSM version is much more highly desired and would probably be better for sport than the f4 of the canon.
