Low focal length lens for circa £250-300

So I've been wanting to get a 35 or 30mm lens for a while now, as my only other lens is an 18-200 sigma, which isn't so great.

But I've been thinking, if you could get a lens (second hand is fine) for a crop body (the 7D), with a focal length around 35 (I would also be open to a variable focal length lens), what would you choose?

edit: Additionally, I need this lens to be good in low light (hence my considering the 35 f/2 and 30 f/1.4).

edit v2: If there's a lens that you would completely recommend but is perhaps £50-£100 more, don't eb afraid to suggest it!!

I can thoroughly recommend the Sigma 30mm. I've recently picked up the new Art version and it is perfect. It set me back about £370 new.

If you're willing to go second hand the older version of the lens can be had for within your budget - but worth considering the focusing issues that many apparently had with it. My understanding is that the 7d has micro adjustments so you could compensate for this however.
