How does paypal work?

And lens questions

Well as you guys know I really need a better lens for indoor photography,

Upto 70MM as i will probs be in the arena!! or just outside the arena!
but i need it f.2.8-5.6 at least :D

Also if you have got this far then :woot:

I presume this is for your equine work and if so I think you would be better going with Photium or Clikpic who both offer template based hosting services and they are easy to set up and use.

Paypal is a site which allows customers to pay for your prints by credit/debit card, it does a lot more than this but I presume that is the main thrust of your question. Go to the Paypal FAQ's page for more info.

There are plenty of memory card deals around at the moment, search Google but I would stay away from the ebay ones are many are fakes.

If you are going to do indoor equine photography you will need a 70-200mm f/2.8 as in my experience lighting is generally not too good. A 70mm will probably not be long enough, and definitely won't be long enough if you are outside the arena.

Are you sure you are ready for this?

Photobox Pro galleries are a quick and easy way of putting your photos online to buy - upload them, set the price, photobox take 10%, rest is yours.

Free, apart from Photobox, no. Plenty you can pay for: Smugmug, photium, clicpix etc etc...

Think of Paypal as an online bank - people can pay you, you cna pay people. You can link your Paypal account to your bank account, debit and credit cards if you wish.

mymemory.co.uk do 16GB CF cards fomr £17.99 (their own brand is excellent, I have a couple...

I'll bow to Hackers expertise on the lens- he's the expert on shooting horses! Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 can be had from around £350 second hand.

I've just tried his gallery and it's very slow. I would go with Hackers advice and try Photium, is seems very easy to use and set up!

Small point about the CF cards, make sure your camera will take a 16GB card, not all do.

MyMemory.co.uk have a memory selector, here's the result for the 400d, seems even the 32GB cards will be fine (and only £45 too!)

I personally would worry about going for the larger capacity cards, I'd rather have multiple, smaller capacity cards, than one large capacity one, if anything was to happen to the large capacity card, you could be stuffed, with multiple smaller capacity cards, if something happened to one of them, you are still able to go out and take pics.

Yeah but is it good- i dont understand memory cards?
like some of them say its good with speed? is this one good with speed

For memory cards, I doubt you'll notice the speed making much difference on the 400D but it is likely to be noticed when uploading to the PC via a card reader.

Personally I stick to SanDisk Extreme III's (good price v performance) and I'd second the suggestion to get a few smaller (e.g. 2GB or 4GB Cards) rather than 1x 8GB or 1x 16GB.

I find that play.com is usually a good source as is 7dayshop.co.uk and amazon.

For lenses f2.8 throughout is a good plan IMO, You could try the Sigma range for a reasonable cost v performance but I'd imagine the Canon range will be the best if you can afford it, also perhaps worth looking for S/H f2.8s.

I just opened an account with flickr *spits* cos photobox's slides show has turned into an abomnation.
I have other hosting, but this was for family crap I want to keep separate, the slideshow would have been great if it wasn't so diabolically pixelated....made the photos look like total shiddoo.
