When I was in the UK I didn’t watch much TV, apart from the F1 the only other thing I really followed was “Lost”. When I came away I made an effort to get hold or the remaining episodes from series one and have just finished watching them. I really enjoyed this series and love the way it is character based while building on the missing pieces as it develops.

The programme for those that are unsure or completely missed it is about a group of survivors with no apparent connection to each other that are stranded on an island after a plane crash. The first episode showed the plane crash and the fallout from immediately after that event, none of the main characters know each other and believe that they are only linked by being on the same plane at a bad time. Each week the story develops and we are given more info on each of the main characters in the form of “flashbacks” to their normal life. It’s a very good way of keeping everything interesting and the stories moving along a good pace.

I think the UK was showing episode 13 on my big move, so without giving away any spoilers, do any of you watch it (I know Marcel has watched all of series one and possible more), are you enjoying it still and what do you think of the idea and how it is being developed?

I only caught one episode that was misway through the series but was hooked by it straight away. I've not watched any more because I'm gonna wait for it to be reshown in the correct order.

But it was good what I saw.

I'll keep my gob shut :D
Except to say I love it. So fresh in itsh approach, its writing, and its storyline.

So many questions, so many plots, so many answers, so much fun :D

I don't personally watch it, I don't seem to watch much TV these days apart from anything motorsport related and the odd babe-fest that is Hollyoaks on a Sunday morning lol

i think Lost is excellent tv, very original and keeps your interest from start to finish.

I caught one episode of this and couldn't make moss or sand of it, but I was a little intrigued by the very different approach.

In a similar vein 'Rome' on BBC 2 last night is a superb new series - very gritty and real and presented as only the Beeb seem to be able to do these period dramas. There's lots of sex and nudity too, so don't watch it of you're easily offended. ;)

Same as CT i only caught one episode, but i did enjoy it.

Problem is the time to watch it.

Also, i get so confused that there are so many repeats of the same series each week, with catch up on the last one, watch the next one, or see two back if you missed that one, i never seem to know where i am with them.

Mike :Ponders: :Ponders:

Ohhhh yes, best new TV programme I've seen in quite a while :thumb:

A mate of mine brought back the entire season one dvd boxset from a recent Canada trip, and I've been downloading the season two episides as they're being shown in the US (up to episode five now I think)... it just keeps getting better :thumb:

Not long ago I decided only to watch TV if something worth watching is on, at the moment I'm down to about 4 or 5 hours a week.
Lost - brilliant series but I thing I missed the one about the fat guy :(
House - doctor drama with Hugh Laurie finishes tonight
CSI miami + new york
and if I catch it QI - sometimes crap sometimes lives up to its name of quite interesting.

Its wierd I've got loads of free time now to go to the gym and stuff nowadays :D

You missed Episode 17 about Hurley? :O :O

Get it watched mate, it's one of the best episodes of Lost S1 :D

More questions than answers!
I love this programme...as you say, very fresh.

I have to agree, its a must see episode and a real eye opener. Download it, borrow it, steal it or buy it, but make sure that you see it.

It's not another Twin Peaks is it that leaves you more confused than before you started?!?

Saying that, Twin Peaks scared the bejesus outta me!

I"m not much of a TV fan myself to be honest. I've come to realize that if I sit, I must eat. So I don't sit! Make sense? Anyways I've heard alot about this show, and I've only seen a few minutes of the show to be honest. I just don't get the buzz all around it though. Didn't do much for me really I must say. :( There are just a select few that I watch. Nothing that requires my time over and over week after week. That drives me crazy. :)

As I said its very character driven and the stories are very well written to allow you to find out things about the characters from the past while watching them develop. There are all sorts of little touches that show how the characters pasts have crossed paths, or are linked with each other and different things that are currently occurring, this goes along way to explaining their behaviour in certain situations while on the island.

If you have missed certain episodes you will miss some of these little connections, the episode about Hurley that Marcel has mentioned above, fills in lots of details about a character that up until then seemed to be taking a side line, but once those details became known you then realise how big a part he has played through all the previous episodes.

Just watching one episode from the middle of the series or even worse part of one episode will not give a fair overview of what this series is about or how well written it really is.

Admittedly it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but its certainly different and refreshing from the majority of drivel that we have had on TV for a good while.

It's good fun - Locke hit the nail on the head when he told them "I think the island gives us what we need..." If you keep that in mind, it all makes sense.

ive watched series one and 1st 4 eps of series 2 all i can say is i want more! every time an episode finishes i swear at the tv and cant wait for the next episode lol. very fresh and very unpredictable which is great.

Sorry to bump a pretty old thread - but part two of series two started again on Sky tonight. Did anyone watch it? I personally thought it was great and I am loving this series. Not seen any of series one and think maybe that is why I am still hooked on it, when others seem to have lost interest (pardon the pun).

So....am I alone in loving this?

No JL I'm hooked too  Just watched tonights episode (it's series 3 part 2 btw ;) ) and can't wait for next week already :D

lol - yeah sorry, series three :p Thought I had seen more than 6 episodes when I was writting that :D thats what you get for watching them on a PC back to back :p

LOL  I only got into Lost just as series 1 finished. A guy at work kept going on about how good it was. I bought the DVD box set and watched every episode of series 1 in a weekend :cuckoo: I've been hooked ever since. I do think they need to wrap it up this series though. A series 4 would be dragging it out a bit too far IMO

Yeah I would like to see it wrapped up, but I cant see them doing it this series :( you never know though! I am very tempted to make a like 3 hours long moview version when its all finished, see how it would have worked without all the flashbacks and filler :P

I don't watch it now it's moved to Sky, but series 1 was OK.

I did here that the US tv production company has had the writers in and told them to come up with some sort of end plot. The writers did admit that at this time there is no end to the story.

outstanding TV series, havent missed an episode, there is so much going on, so intricate. I love it

Hm... year-old thread.

Anyways, I watched Episode 1 and about 10 minutes of Episode 2. Couldn't keep up with all the to-ing and fro-ing. It made my head hurt.

I've seen all of Seasons 1 & 2, not impressed with not being able to watch season 3 as we don't have sky. As far as I'm aware it won't come out on DVD until they've finished showing it on TV. I'm not happy :(

You could always download it. I dont normally condone downloading stuff but its a TV show....its not like it is being sold as such, so it isnt going to hurt them if people download it rather than watch it on TV. Would recommend downloading it on a Torrent....can find the episodes all over the place and all of them tend to be in High Def too...and minus the adverts :)

Im into sreries 3 at the moment, and its a bit better than series 2.

My problem with Lost is that the writers have lost (pun intended) the 'edge' it had. It used to have a great air of mystery, suspense and thrill about it, but theyve left too many questions unanswered, too many plots that have just been seemingly 'forgotten' about.

I did hear the other day, that the writers are deciding how series 3 goes and if it doesnt go as planned, theyre just going to end the show, with no answers given...gits

I quit watching after season 1 as I was tired of just getting more questions and no answers. My husband still watches religiously but he is so p***y when it is done because he still doesn't know anything. Makes my life difficult.

Major bumpage - anyone still watching this? Loving this series so far :D

Well I really got into this in the end and caught up with all the back episodes - couldn't get enough of it. I hope it doesn't disappoint in the end. The writers are making it up as they go along, and are promising an ending which will make sense and answer all the questions. I hope they can deliver.

I'm still watching,, but the forced lay off hasn't helped, and the plot has just got too damned complicated for me, so it's losing a bit of the magic, but I'm sticking with it.

outstanding series, and the new series kicked off in fine style, and some of it is starting to fall into place too!

Loving it, can't wait for tomorrow night. :)

Yep just watched the 3rd ep of S5. Seen all the other eps. S1 - Great! S2-OK, S3 - terrible, S4- getting (much) better again, S5 so far looking really awesome.

First few eps are a bit WTF, but they always take a few episodes to explain things...

I don't even know what series it's on, I haven't watched it properly for so long!

Saw an episode on Sky1 the other day and I'm well confused. I finished watching way back when C4 lost the broadcasting rights so didn't even think they'd introduce the race of giant penguins, the river of beer and the volcano that erupts gold-plated chocolate bars…

…or was that something I dreamt!!

Completely missed the start of this many moons ago and refused to try and get in to it. But i got S1 for xmas and have since watched all of it. I have since bought S2 and am now part of the way through that.

I'm gonna buy S3 on monday when i go back to work and gradually get through them. The only problem is trying to hide yourself from the current show/ trailers as i don't want to know who is still in it or where they are.
