Lost in Adobe

I've finally got a computer capable of running photo editing software and I've loaded Photoshop elements 10 (purchased sometime ago) and a trial of lightroom 4.

Is there a simple place to start where I can learn how to use the software, book online etc... :shrug:

Books by Scott Kelby and Martin Evening are popular, and theres a load of tutorials on youtube or untill the end of the month here

Now these are for the full version of photoshop but most of the tools work the same if in different places sometimes.

^^^ All great suggestions. Also Adobe TV, which will still be there after the above-mentioned tutorial is no longer availabe.

And the best, IMO, book on learning Lightroom is Martin Evening's The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 Book.

Adobe do have lots of tutorial stuff on their site for the CS suite, not sure about elements but I would think that they would have plenty on their too. You could also check out youtube of all places and we have one or two things on here. Plenty of Photoshop tutorials would work with elements especially the simpler stuff which is where you would be starting anyway.

I was impressed with the photography sections, lots of interesting books, but the computer section was poor.

To be fair it is difficult for computer sections because stuff changes so quickly and they can be stuck with non selling books. YouTube and on line can often be best.

If you want to rescue your local high street at the expense of a few dead trees, I'm sure Waterstone's could order it for you. You can check it on Amazon and do the "Click to Look Inside" business to make sure you want it.
