Lost formating and smileys in my posts

Help, I appear to have lost the ability to put smileys into my posts and all my formatting has gone as well. What am I doing wrong, or what settings do I need to change?
 
This happened to somebody else a while back. The solution was to clear out all your 'cookies' from what I remember.
 
Do you have the 'standard editor' selected in your profile user options? Not that I really know if that would make a difference :lol:

Clearing cookies for the forum site might reset something. You will need to sign in if you have your user/pass saved.

My text editor is set to full WYSIWYG. I'm also concerned about deleting all cookies as I have automated passwords for the non-sensitive sites.
 
Don't know what browser you are using but with Firefox you can delete cookies for just one site quite easily.

Yup, I'm using Firefox. How do I delete the cookie for this site and will this solve the problem?
 
Are you sure it's not just that you need to click "go advanced" next to the "post quick reply" box?

Obviously I've clicked on the quote reply box for this reply and made sure that the disable smileys box is un-checked. Now I'm adding a smiley here 'xxxx' except that nothing happens. Anyway I want to start a new paragraph so I hit 'return' twice... ...and I get the new paragraph separated by a blank line; until I look at preview and see that all the text has now merged into one, also other formatting has been lost.

you haven't managed to check "disable smilies in text" have you?

Nope, the box is un-checked. You will also see that the formatting of your text in the quote box is also screwed up somehow. This problem only started recently as some of my older posts have full formatting and smileys. I find that if I click on any smiley or tool on the toolbar of the text box the cursor disappears. Also if I go up to the main TOOLS and check the error console I have a whole raft of error messages all relating to this website. I don't have this problem with any other photographic website forums.
 
OK. I've deleted the cookies but saved the passwords and let's see what happens now... :thumbs:

No idea what caused this :shrug:

I've not gone totally senile yet then :thumbs:
