For the past few months I've found my camera gear sat in its bag doing nothing. Between leading a very busy working life and attempting to maintain somewhat of a social life, I find my hobbies are being neglected. I sometimes force myself into getting out my gear, I even have a couple of wedding booked at the end of August. However, I just cannot muster the energy or find inspiration to go out and shoot photos. Any tips out there for reclaiming my flare?

Don't push yourself!.. The harder you try, IMHO the less the mojo returns. I think we all go through this at sometime or another, I know well that I have. I have found that just chilling out is as good a way to recover as any, and the old joy will return... Good luck! The fact that it concerns you is a good sign.:)

Aye - I don't want to make myself hate it. I have loved photography since buying my first DSLR almost five years ago. I'm just afraid of all the time, money and passion going to waste!

Trade in all your current gear and buy shiny new toys.

NO! Bad Nick - naughty Nick!

Perfectly normal for this. Why not try one camera, one lens, just walk about woith it on your shoulder and see what takes your fancy.

Don't trade your gear in. I've went through all that before on a number of occassions and I highly regret it. I'm now currently building my collection back to what it was.

I've lost my mojo a lot. It just keeps coming back to me though and I go out with the camera etc. I've found that if I go on forums and look to take photos of subjects I've not normally done before that it gets me excited for it again. Perhaps joining a club or getting a couple of friends together to do it will help as you could call it part of your social life.

Find somewhere nice and the time to go there, stroll around, hang about, just enjoying an idle sightseeing kind of day. Take the camera just in case, with no specific plans. I'll be surprised if sooner or later you don't find yourself pulling out the camera and spending time trying to get a good shot of something. That's how it starts. :-)
