I wonder what the chances are of posting two packages to different addresses on the same day at the same post office, both signed for next day items and both packages get "damaged" at the sorting office such that one package has all its content lost and the other package suffers partial loss, some of which gets sent back to poster, some gets through to recipient and some just ends up in a safe storage area (despite there being an obvious link to the other items in the package).
Call me suspicious but as both packages were being sent to pension providers and contained sensitive information leads me to think that maybe someone had a sneaky preview, decide to keep the original documents, maybe snapped then with a phone and then "dropped" them on the floor but decided the other package with photo copies werent worth keeping so just dumped them.
Oh and both envelopes were opened but not damaged and none of the documents which found there way to their destination or back to my home were in any way damaged.

Or maybe that's just me seeing things differently.

Anyone else had sensitive documents not arrive at their destination.

RM is great.
Just not for anything of value.
Or anything "sensitive".
Or anything that needs to be at destination at a specific point in time.

For birthday cards posted early it's great!

Yep, several solictor letters have vanished.
Birthday cards never arrive, or arrive in a plastic bag with the money missing.

The advice has always been never to send cash in a card as long as I can remember

Obviously you should make a complaint, not just claim, if you suspect wrongdoing.

Maybe so, tell that to 80 year old grandparents.
Your mail should be safe, not stolen by some agency employed lowlife scum.

never send any "unique" documents by RM

RM now offer a free delivery service for medical prescription items.
I find its great for anything which states 'Shake well before use'.
Saves me a job.

FWIW I do not trust the 'security' of an envelope....... I always selotape the flaps and when sending sensitive material cross tape the envelope midway across both edges. Basically any damage should never result in the contents being exposed to unintended viewing.

If it's important then Special Delivery

Agreed, anything remotely sensitive I send by SD.

It was SD and taped down, neither envelope arrived in a damaged state, nor the contents (the bits they didn't "lose").
More bits tired up today, completely undamaged, very odd.
