Yes
We have a running series of bets at work for the monthly loser of Fantasy Football.

Got me thinking, besides the obvious of money, what have you had to do in the name of a lost bet?

(I'm currently sporting bleach blonde hair)

Been a maid for a day for my daughter after losing a bet on the outcome of Masters of photography :D funniest thing is, it was same as any other day

The odd quid or 2 makes things that might otherwise be very boring a little interesting - I have almost zero interest in football (soccer) but have a small wager on our local team to finish in the top 3 of their current league. For a very modest outlay, I stand to win enough to pay for a couple of commercialmas lunches and the outlay is less than a couple of ice creams. Currently lying 2nd.

Me too, and betting is ALWAYS in favour of the house.

Yes, and the road to ruin is easy to follow if you get hooked.
It takes a while to wreck yourself with drink and drugs. Gambling can ruin you in no time.

So who is the house when its you and a couple of mates all doing the same thing?

Think people seem to have missed the "apart from money" part of the post.

I don't get why some are so quick to dramatize either, there's serious gambling - which is clearly not what you meant - and there's light betting for fun. Doing the lotto once a week could be deemed 'gambling'! Someone having a few drinks at the weekend isn't going to suddenly turn them alcoholic!

There's a simple rule for gambling/betting - never bet what you cannot afford to lose.

I'm a Nikon/Fuji user and IIRC there's a shot of me in my mankini somewhere on the forum... Not for a bet, either!!!

I have a betting account and there is approx £30 in there.
Over the last year, I've put in £40.
Clearly I have lost money, there is no denying that, but for me a couple of quid on a few football games and some on large horse races adds to the excitement.

I'm not obsessed by putting a bet on, but instances like Germany not getting through the qualifying stages of the world Cup, (win) and there being a goal in every qualifying game (40/1) made it a lot more exciting.

I'll loose more than £40-50 on my gas/elec bill (annually) by not changing supplier when I 'should'....

I would have thought that you'd keep sweets (clitoris-all-sorts) in there TBH ?

Only viewing on smartphone..........but have you zoomed in............he ain't wearing a "fanny pack" unless he is into cannabalism ;)

What's on the strap round his fanny? (I would have said waist but he has as much waist as me!!!) I haven't zoomed in - it's traumatic enough to see pix of ME wearing a mankini…

Suffice to say I was reluctant to zoom in :( but he is not wearing anything on the "waist" strap............tis all angle & juxtaposition

Well, it ain't holding anything in!

I was replying to Terry's comment as much as anything, however in the context the 'house' would be the smart one who has biased the likelihood of not losing to favour himself. In the case of the sort of thing you seem to be referring to, I'd call that a dare, rather than a bet/gamble.
