Tried to set up a security password on our Belkin54g1233 router, but instead, it has disconnected and now refuses to reconnect.:bonk: What have I done? How do I reconnect. Tried unplugging and plugging back in router, but no joy.
 
Have you tried getting at the router with a normal network cable plugged in? That usually gives you more security options as wireless access to one is inherently insecure.
 
Think you may have to do a factory reset (find the reset button and hold in for about 30secs.) then connect up with a cable intially.

I've just tried holding the reset button in, and now the green On light has turned red, how do I get it to turn green again?

Edit:- Ok scrub that, I unplugged the router and plugged back in again, so now have a green ON light again. I currently have 4 green lights two at each end of the router.
The message I get when I click on the "Connect to a network" icon at the bottom of my screen says- "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network". Another laptop gives the same message. Any ideas?

Ok, I now have a Local connection but no internet, how do I get the internet connection back?
 
You need the settings from your ISP.
If not saved somewhere you will have to ring them.
If you tell us which ISP someone might be able to give a hint.
 
I can now re-access the Belkin settings page for the router, something that I couldn't do after losing the connection. WAN IP is currently N/A
 
No WAN IP means time to call ISP mate..... the 'settings saved on this computer for the network........' error is easily fixed by going to wireless connections on the computer and removing the connection, then letting the computer find it again.

you need your username and password - I would have thought the orange supplied router would have that set and a reset would still keep the settings
anyway
you need to connect with a cable to the router and then goto the configuration pages and setup the username and password supplied by orange
orange should have all the other settings on their website

the other settings will be
PPPoA
Multiplexing Method: VC Based
MTU around 1492 (1500 maybe the only available value)
VPI=0
VCI=38
