Losing effects when uploading

Hi all,

I have just noticed that when taking picture in film grain effect on my panasonic fz45 and view these on the PHOTOfunSTUDIO 5.0 HD EDITION supplied i get the full effect if i view the same photos from the same folder on my desktop with say finepix or windows photo gallery the effect is much less obvious.

Why is this so?

The effect my be a picture style effort that gets applied by the software in camera and supplied software rather than being applied to the actual image file.
