Well, i gone an done it guv!

After 2 months of drooling and playing around with the sigma 10-20mm on my 30d, i splashed out on the 12-24mm for my 5d for the weekend trip to Denmark......... Here's hoping the weather holds out :help:

Yr dooomed.
Now you've posted this it'll be dark foggy and rainy until about April....
but thats just the normal winter here.

In Denmark it'll be much worse (does it get light up there this time of year?)

I'll have to strap on the arc lights for the great outdoors and enlist the trusty monopod for the museums :)

as for distortion / vignetting Joe....... not entirely sure yet:shrug: The reviews I've read suggest that there's no problem by f/11 at the wide end, but only time will tell. Really cant wait to get home tonight to get that ultra wide experience - i'll let you know for sure after the weekend

Cheer

12mm is going to be very wide indeed on a 5D!!

Will you get any vignetting or distortion at all?

well joe, happy to report that following the usual rules of wideangle photography, distortion was not a problem at all (unless I wanted it to be, making my ever patient girlfriend look 'odd'). There was some slight light drop at max aperature which was gone by stopping down 2 stops or so.

All in all, a beautiful lens - i've only just got home but will throw some sample pics up over the week.

Cheers

Jon

I'll be more than happy to oblige - my first task when i get home with evening.

I couldn't believe the perspective - mind boggling and so much fun.

Thats going to be one impressive wide view on full frame, use a Sigma 10-20 on my 350D and I thought that was w i d e , I will be looking forward to the pics with interest :D

Enjoy your trip

sorry guys - got home and slept!!!

I'll post some images tonight and let you know when they're up - thanks for the interest :)
