Looks like McLaren's evidence was incontrovertible

The fact that Ferrari's QC had the opportunity to cross-examine Lewis proves to me that the FIA/Stewards acted in Ferrari's best interest.

What has the appeal got to do with Ferrari? Surely they're just the innocent benefactor of Lewis's misdemeanour?

farce TBH. Ok he COULD have left it another corner, but it was inevitable, he was miles quicker.

All I hope for is that Hamilton goes on to win the championship after all....

That would be the poke in the eye that Ferrari (and their "inside" supporters) need.

Failing that, go and smack Massa on the beak

;)

It`s all hogwash from start to finish imo...

He should never have been given the penalty in the first place.

Just typical of F1 these days. More is decided in the court room than on the track.

Take off the "kid gloves" bring back proper slicks, no aids of any kind, reduce all those pathetic wing-lets and no run off areas.

The cars are safe enough to protect the drivers... Kubica`s crash in Canada proved that (thankfully)

Lets get this sport back to when it was exciting to watch and the best drivers in the world could actually overtake...

Just my tuppence worth.

Very convenient that the FIA thew out the appeal on a technicality, that way they don't have to debate the facts of the incident, where imo they don't have a leg to stand on!

I'm also confused about how you can give a "drive thru" penalty, 2 hours after the race has finished, unless you want to make sure your decision can't be appealed, of course!!

Regardless of weather you think the penalty was right or wrong doesnt change one point, its got alot of people talking about the sport again, which was dying a slight death tbh, i believe its all part of a setup these days to get interest. Last years events of spying would and did used to get sorted behind closed doors, thats been happening for years, just most cases never got outside into the media. But it did make headline news, same as the Mosley thing.

I do agree with the getting the sport back to basics, but do you think the current bread of F1 winge bag drivers could hack a full blood F1 car these days?

Its in the rules if an incident happens within 5 laps from the end of the race, as theres no time to review the incident and serve the penalty as the rules state you have 3 laps to serve a drive though. I think the rule was introduce after Mr Schumacher won at Silverstone in the pitlane after being issued a drive though. He took it on the last lap required which was the last lap of the race, as he entered the pitlane to do the drive though penalty done, but he also crossed the finishing line early in the pitlane there by wining the race that he wouldnt have done if he had served the penalty a lap earilier.
