Hi all and Happy New Year.
As per the title, I have a Z6 and 24-200mm Z lens and have had it for a few years now and love it. The issue is I just don't really use it and can't really justify the value of it when I have projects in the house I need to get sorted. If I sell what I have and leave a budget of around £500-£600 to replace it, what would your suggestions be?
I have had many DSLR's in the past including D40, D7000, D700, and D750 so I don't mind going for something older or DX if need be but would like to stay FX if possible but not sure if it is an option with the lenses being more expensive.
I mainly take pics of the kids and cats so nothing special or particular (Flickr here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/118970253@N05/) but we have just moved near an airfield so it would be good to have something with more range if possible.
I am not sure which route to go down, do I go for something like a D7100 and a 70-300mm and a 35mm prime? I see that D800's are very cheap (large file sizes are not an issue for me) but the FX zoom lenses are not cheap, saying that I previously used the Nikon AF-S 70-300mm VR with the FT adapter and it was a great lens and you can pick them up for around £250ish
If anyone has done a similar switch or spent approx my budget on a similar Nikon system (I am not brave enough to switch brands) I would love to hear from you to give me some ideas.
As I say, quite flexible in terms of kit, but it has been a while since I have looked at F-mount lenses so not really up to date what good lenses are out there for a small budget when I need to include a DSLR too.
Thanks in adavance.
