i've been eyeing up a lot of images like this these days and i'm getting curious about how to get the look in my own shots.

http://www.photoradar.com/photos/136731/ched53/essence

i'm not sure how much is in camera, using lighting or reflectors, or work done in pp editing.

would a gold relflector be used to get the warm tones or editing of the raw file, adjusting the colour temperature etc.

if this turns out to be more of a lighting question i'd really appreciate any advice people would have on the editing of the image, assuming for these purposes that the raw file would be available to edit before converting to jpeg.

Looks like a telephoto lens, nice girl and a sunrise/set to me. I dont think its special lighting.

Sun is low and comming through trees on left. Also causeing flare on the lens.

I may be wrong though.

If it was me, I would pick a location & girl. Use the very clever 'free' (pls donate) ephemeris
http://photoephemeris.com/
and go do it.

You have a bright background, a lot of flare and whats probably some sort of cross process to give the magenta colour, I doubt it's just the flare but I might be wrong.

thanks for the info guys, the cross process idea will be worth exploring. i'm colourblind so picking out a colour like magenta is difficult for me a lot of the time.

i'll have an oppertunity to try the contre jour technique out pretty soon and i should have a white/gold reflector arriving by the weekend, all i need is a pretty girl to stand in front of the camera :)

Don't we all! :)

that image has been cross processed and possibly a Holga plugin as well
