Hi all,

I'm experimenting with HDR on night shots and wondered if anyone could give me some tips on a couple of pics.

I've tried to keep them as 'natural' looking as possible and just used the HDR to bring out highlights where there'd normally be none with this level of light. I'm not a big fan of the 'cartoony' HDR images.

In this first one the doorway near the centre of the image has ended up a little blown-out. I've tried using layer masks to repair it using one of the original RAW files, but it always looks very odd, any tips on how to avoid/repair this?

In this one I've gone for a darker look, but the sky in the top right of the picture is far from perfect. Does anyone have any tips for repairing this kind of artefact? (the proper name escapes me :) )

Also, any general comments would be appreciated :)

Many thanks,

John.
