Hello, looking for some advice and a direction to take.

I am working for a garage slightly wider than a standard single garage. I am using a 7x8 hilite using two flash heads inside to light it, i also have another flash head for lighting the subject. The hilite sits on top of two sheets of reflective board to give a reflection. It has worked but cant get a seamless white background and limited on using other colour backgrounds.

The dilemma i have is, is the hilite the best option for me?

What i am thinking now is to go for paper on a wall mounted system and rest the white on the reflective boards and have it all clamped into place. first question would be, would this give me a seamless effect between paper and reflective board?

Second question would be, using the two lights that were lighting the hilite would i be able to light the paper background sufficiently enough? is three lights still enough for me?

Has anyone used these wall mounted paper mounts? are they any good?

If i was to go down this route would i need to consider anything else? any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

The hilite is great for small spaces but its hard to get aseamless flow. I have seen onhere before where people haveraised the floor and scoped up the back up to blend it into the hilite. Do a search and see if you can find it.

I have followed a lot of posts regarding using the hilite especially yours ben and i cant seem to get a seemless background to floor, have several setups the latest being lifting the hilite and using a sheet of paper to cover the raised section and then blasting this with light. To get this to work properly i would need extra flash heads and this is an extra cost and limits my space in the studio.

Therefore thinking if i set up as a paper studio i should be able to do it with the lights i have.

Open to all suggestions though.

thanks

My other issue is that i want it to look as professional as it can in, whilst being in a garage so no offence but i dont want it to have extras like sheets of acylic, which i have tried.

I think that the shooting area is about the photographs. I would rather get the results in the camera than people saying how lovely it looks.

The rest of the studio is where the nice table, sofa, flowers, lighting, pictures on the wall come in.

oh i agree, getting it right camera is why i may be looking at an alternative to the hilite,

agree with what you are saying

I do think that a white cyc wall gives you a great lighting solution if you have the space. The one thing a hilite does well is take up little space.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with !

new set up it complete now with a wallmounted paper roll, that runs down to the multi panel board, looks and works better than the hilite plan. Now have a spare hilite for sale
