Looking for friendly Nikon upgrade advice!

The 200mm f2.8 and the 300mm I already own are FX compatible though are they not?

Apologies if that was on the thread, didn't see both of those. I mostly post from my phone and sometimes I miss things

I have both the cameras your considering. The D7000 gets used less and less apart from the odd bit of long lens work because of the extra 'reach'. The D700 is a joy to use and if you can afford it go for it, its a different league. The anticipated D600 sounds like a full frame D7000 and may well turn out to be the camera you're looking for. I'd hang fire and see if thats announced this month as anticipated.

Thanks for the tip. I came very close to getting a D700 on eBay tonight but chickened out at the last second........ Really am in a pickle as to what to do. I can't decide whether I should just get a 300/300s or go all out and get the D700 if I can find a decent used one for not too much, if anything, over £1000.

As a little update, I have now bought a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 which I am eagerly awaiting!

I *think* I'm set on a D700...... Now, just to find one for a decent price.........

Thanks Phil. I am currently the worst nightmare of anybody that is selling a D700 on eBay as I'm asking lots of questions to all of them! Got to do your research though haven't you....!
