Hi all my name is Tom I'm a new member and a novice
I am about to purchase a bridge camera either the Fuji HS50exr or the
Fuji X-S1. I have read up on the X-S1 looks good, I know it has a few faults
but I can live with that, the newer HS50 is on sale now, but I'm waiting
for a few more reviews and to see some Photos taken with this camera.

I'm looking for tutorials, videos, on using bridge cameras, i.e explaining different settings altering shutter speeds and apeture etc so any help would be much appreciated.:help:

Thanks Richard.
Much appreciated, I have been looking at other tutorials regarding apeture, shutter speed, iso, there is a lot to this photography business:lol:
I have been serching with goggle for tutorial videos on bridge cameras,
I like photographs of fast moving vehicles, various sports, and of course,
I have three beautiful young grandaughters whom like to pose for the camera
so I want this camera to do everything,
I want to try and learn a bit more about photography. the other thing is
the bridge cameras I dont't know how much I will be able to alter settings
in shutter and apeture, but I suppose I have to experiment.
I do like the new Fuji HS50exr and the Fuji X-S1, I have been on this other site www.dpreviews.com gleaning information,
most of the photography Forum sites don't have a section on bridge cameras
but as you say most of the settings work on the same principles
Thanks again Richard for the quick reply:lol:

They appear to give the photographer total control of the camera.

The only thing you may find it very difficult to get real shallow depth of field when shooting some subjects (this is a function of lens focal lenghth, amongst other things). The upside is that it is very easy to get lots of deph of field.

With fast moving objects (eg motor sport and birds in flight) focus speed and accuracy is one of the biggest problems. I am not familiar how well those particular cameras perform in that area.

Keep in mind that no camera will do every thing well, with just one lens.
However these do appear to look good for lot of shooting situations.

I'd be interested in your long term ownership views of this camera, as I'm very likely to purchase one in a week or two.
