Looking for an alternative to Proshow Gold

I've used Proshow Gold for years and found it to be very good, but for some reason, since moving on to W8, it won't work on my PC. It crashes on startup. Photodex say its due to faulty memory, but the memory on my PC is fine.

Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker after all it’s already on your system?
I use Sony Vegas movie Studio HD Platinum, it has a DVD/BR and a sound studio “Sound Forge” included.

Try the photodex web based program. I started using it when I moved from PC to Mac and wouldn't go back to an installed program.
