excellent for both . Actually I am blown away with how good it is. . it is not only the monitor to consider but how good the camera/camcorder lens is as well. Link it up with something like my Sony FDR-AX53 (£699) and you wont go far wrong. I use adobe elements2020 and premier elements 2020 for stills and video editing. If doing videos you may well want to edit clips together and cut out bits you don't want. Also you can do a rolling scroll heading within the video or even a voice over. doing a video sound also needs to be considered and that is a whole new subject.
If I may I would suggest have a camcorder for videos and a DSLR or similar for stills. Each is designed for that specific purpose although either can do both I don't advise it. working on/with video is so different from stills photography I am still in the learning stage after 9 /10 years. Things like clip length- walking while videoing- capturing sound- editing to name but a few things to think of
