Hello everyone, I'm looking for a new lens for canon. I currently own the Sigma 10-24 f.4 or something like that. And also a 50mm 1.8. I want a not to expensive really sharp lens for landscape photos. E.g. Between 18 and 40mm. I have looked at the Sigma 35mm 1.4 prime and the 18-35mm 1.8. I'm not sure how sharp these are or if there any any better options? Thanks.

The Canon 17-40 lens gets a good following and reviews - not sure if it qualifies for your "not too expensive" category though...

The Tamron 17-50 2.8 is an excellent all round lens which gives you a wide enough field of view for big landscapes along with 50mm for portraits.

Although saying that, you don't say what you're shooting with (FF or crop)

IMVHO that lens makes no sense at all on an APS-C camera when there are arguable/possibly/probably 17-50mm f2.8 lenses that offer better image quality and the option of using the wider available apertures.

That's assuming we're talking APS-C as the OP mentions APS-C only lenses.

I'm not really into the what lens for landscape question as any lens available (other than the MPE :D) can be used for landscape if it gives the image you're looking for. On the question of what's missing from the OP's little kit bag I'd say 17-50mm, 50-200mm and a wider prime, maybe 28/30/35mm f1.8? Any one of those lenses could add something to the mix :D
