I'm looking to improve my photoshop skills and I'm looking for a good reference book that starts with the basics and works up.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Dave

I'll throw a couple of thoughts into the ring.

Adobe Photoshop CS** for Photographers by Martin Evening. I found this very clear and covered all the options in great detail.

Also consider the online training videos such as Lynda.com They seem well produced.

I have this one by Chris Weston. http://www.ilex-press.com/product/?pid=11253

I also had a copy of the massive Martain Evening book that told you everything about PS. I found it a bit too heavy on details that I was never going to use and ended up not reading much of it.
The Chris Weston one is a bit more slimmed down and more readable imo.

I'll have a look at them, thanks very much.

Loads of good tutorials online and loads of youtube videos which can help just do a google search

I've only seen 2 or 3 of these free videos, but what I have seen I'm impressed with (once you get past the ads).

Pixel Perfect

There are also some videos on RAW, Light Room and Bridge. It covers mostly CS4, but some of the early videos cover previous versions.

Thanks very much for the info ad links, I'll check them out.
