Hi All - having sold my mountain bike last year, I've missed being able to head off down some of the local old railway line trails. So I'm looking to find a second hand hard tail bike but apart from eBay I don't know where to look.
If anyone can recommend a good classified for mountain bikes and any advice on bike models etc as I'm a bit out of touch. Budget will only be around £5-600. I'm not too bothered about rear suspension as I'm after something as light as possible. Most riding will be with the other half so mainly on the flat.
I really like the look of the Cube bikes.

Any help much appreciated.

I've got last years Cube Acid(blue an grey) and I've pounded the hell out of it and it's stood up to the punishment really well.
These should be well with in your budget!

Can anyone recommend a well stocked cycle store in the North West? Preferably one that has Cube bikes.
I've previously been to Formby Cycles who were pretty good, but I don't know of many others around? I live in Cheshire, so Cheshire, Manchester, Staffordshire?

Here. A bit further away but could link to a day in the Lake District.

I went there some years ago with a friend who bought a bike from them. I could not believe how many bikes they had.

Hope this helps.

Ken

Have a look on preloved.co.uk sometimes good stuff on there.

There's a host of bike shops in Chester. I've not been into any there but there certainly seems plenty to choose from: The Edge Cycleworks, The Bike Factory, a Specialized store and 69 Cycles all look nice from walking past.

Well, after much searching and reading of reviews and boring even myself in the end, I decided to buy a new 2012 model Cube MTB. £550 discount as it's the 2012 model.
