Did this review and comparison last summer:

My advice, spend more and get one to keep for the next 10-15 years. If you decide photography isn't for you before you reach either of those milestones, then sell it on here or similar. A good tripod you want can use (e.g. carry easily) is better than a crap one that you can't (e.g. heavy and too much effort to take with you).

Hope that helps, my gitzo has been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and I take it everywhere (cos I rarely realise it's there).

Thanks for the advice Tricky01 now I know that my tripod is crap, too heavy and wont last me any length of time. :'(
Damn you Manfrotto and your sub standard products. :bang:

I use the Manfrotto 190xpro b and love it.
Warehouse Express are doing it with the 804RC2 head at half price just now.
Both with next day delivery £139.44

or same deal but with the heavier and taller 55xpro b

Both good deals

Manfrotto every time. I once had a leg clamp break on a 190. I took it back to the shop out of warranty and it got shipped to Italy and fixed FOC as they 'felt it shouldn't have happened'. Enough said. You'll only find out how good a brand is when it goes wrong sometimes.
