Monday's wedding featured something a little different... not just the usual 3 speeches, but something like 10!!! 1 hour 40 minutes in total!

Oh and because of where I had to stand to get decent shots I had my 70-200mm f/2.8 attached to my camera... and it weighs a tonne!

What's the longest amount of time it's taken for the speeches at a wedding you've either shot or been a guest at?

Last weekend. 2 best men, 2 speeches, pictures on projector, song about an hour.

Song? That's a new one.

I've had songs too - and multiple best men, but it tends to get long when the bride and matron of honour decide they want a turn.

African weddings and similar cultures can have many, many speakers, often lasting well over and hour.... and beyond.

My most recent wedding in this style must have included at least 20 speakers! Some only said a few words, but there were parents, grandparents, the minister etc giving full blown speeches plus there was a duet at the end. Lasted at least 1 hour 20 mins :nono:

I left at 10:45pm, immediately after the 1st dance

I used to work regularly with a video guy who always moaned about long speeches. When I photographed his son's wedding, 3 speakers lasted just over an hour!!!

Last wedding I was at, not shooting, just as a guest and taking my own pics on side - between the 2 Father's of B&G, they took about an hour alone. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I can only grin hesitantly so much at stale jokes. Felt like 5hrs ... I don't know why they hog the mic so much. Say your cheesey one-liner and sit down, enjoy the day :D

I did an Italian wedding a few years back, just about everybody made a speech, I'd say around three and half hours ish, thought it would never end.
