Long Exposure

I’d like to take one of those long exposure shots where you see a group of people walking through the frame and they appear as blur/ghosts and the background remains in focus and correctly exposed is this possible to do during daylight without a filter?

You need a long shutter speed, probably in the 1/8sec-1/2sec region, or longer. If the light is low, and you use a high f/number and low ISO you might get down around there, but no chance in normal daylight. You need a fairly dark ND filter, maybe 4-6 stops or so.

Yes - set your iso to lowest setting 50 or 100. Set your camera to AV and f stop 22 or bigger number. Shoot on tripod or support (ground/wall etc).

Check the blur effect and start to open up the f stop (go lower number) until you get the desires effect.

Dont go for to long an exsposure or your people will indeed en up like ghosts and not show up at all.

1: 30s iso 100 f4 (or something like that)
2: 4s f5.6 iso 160
3: 0.8s f2.2 iso 50
4: 5s f8 iso 50 (zenitar fish eye so I'm not shore of the f-nr)

I have done a few ghost shots in bright lights I did some last time I was in hospital to entertain the nurses and the settings that I used was lowest iso, f/20+ and was able to achieve +25 second exposure without an issue with over exposure
