Long crossbar for background support

I purchased the excellent Lencarta background support system. The crossbar is adjustable, but I'd like to find a solution for a long crossbar - maybe up to 5m. Anyone know of a suitable solution? Preferably one that does not involve buying a tent and throwing away everything but the poles...

I'd think for strength over length a scoffold pole or similar would be your only option :shrug:
Thats an awfully long distance to span .

Thinking about it, I'd probably need a central stand.

Are you thinking of using muslin ? If so rigging up a center stand with a G clamp or something may work .
