BJP report that Lomo are to revive Kodak Aerochrome:

But Lomo's website indicates it's actually a new C41 film which ''gives naturally infrared results''.

Hmmm... Anyway, whatever it is it'll cost you £44.50 for a pack of 5 rolls of 35mm or £49.50 for a pack in 120. Pre-ordering pays for the manufacture and it won't be delivered until July...

A C-41 colour infra-red film, that's pretty cool, the old aerochrome was E6. I'd like to see a data-sheet for it to see if it's really IR sensitive or simulated in some odd way.
It's tempting even if it works out to nearly £1 a shot in 6x6, though i've seen single rolls of aerochrome go for the price of 5 rolls of this so it's certainly the cheaper option, and the 35mm is about 27p a shot so much cheaper.
This might actually be the first ever product i but from Lomo.

Apparently it's simulated IR

Slightly disappointing then, but i guess all IR film was technically simulated since humans can't see IR anyway.

my bank account takes enough of a beating from film, let alone something of that price haha!

Looking at some of the stuff they've said in reply to comments, it seems that its just a standard C-41 film with the colour layers tinkered with and swopped to give an 'EIR' style effect whilst actually being not IR sensitive at all (shame really as I've tried bidding on frozen Kodak EIR several times only for the price to go way above my budget!)

Nice effect... hopefully the price will drop once it's out and people realise they can do the same thing in photoshop ;)

Looks really cool! Would be nice for some "alice in wonderland" trippy effect! I'm going to order some tomorrow (whenever they reply my email on combined postage) so if anyone wants any I can order em some too to save on postage.
