ok so im looking to start my own website up but need a logo!

The problem is my creative skills in Photoshop are non existent, i think it took me about a week to make a simple watermark and about a hundred hours of youtube help.

Would really appreciate it if someone would be able to help me out with a simple yet effective logo.

My domain name is www.adevlinphotography.co.uk (not up and running yet)

A.D Photography is the name im looking for a logo for.

Much appreciated

Tony

Is there anything specific you`re after, or is it a case of anything goes?

Ok cool
I`ll start the ball rolling then :)

Not really keen on the colours Tbh.

Any way you Could create the A and D as a logo together?

Dont worry about the colours, or anything for now. I just wanted a ground point to start from (and anyone else who`s up for it).

How do you mean the A & D together? sort of joined up? and what sort of colouring were you thinking?

getting anywhere?

ok a little closer, maybe the A & D could join. so where the right side of the A is maybe that could be the left side of the d, where the curvy bit of the bottom of the d meeds the straight line maybe that could be the cross bar of the A if that makes sense?

I`ll give it a try :)

Or something like this?

EDIT: Removed image :)

Lol not a problem. I like what you done but looks more of a warermark then a logo.

Yeah I agree, just done another quick one before bed. It's just your name but kind of similar to the one you picked out?

Or one with colour emphasising the AD

I`m struggling on the jaggies though when I rotate the "D" so much :(

Tbh i have no clue about this sort of thing. Give me anything to do with making music and im you man, making logos im useless.

 Gimmie anything to do with music (other than listen to it) and i`m crap :D

Slightly different but ....

^^ The above are simple and effective.

Anybody able to offer a tutorial on how you do these or a link to a site that shows how as I'd like to have a play myself!?

cheers

Dark blue?

Bright blue?

Or light blue?

Hi,

What program did you do these in (love the dark blue and the red)? Really loving this. Fancy trying the same with Dean Ireland Photography?
(or just showing me how as I'd hate to take the proverbial!!)

Hello Dean, they were created in Photoshop (only for web use) and they are created by using Futura typeface in uppercase. With the spacing between the letters kerned out so the name and photography are the same size. I can design you a logo if you can't do it yourself.

Sounds so easy when you put it like that!

Thanks very much!!

Dean :-)

Watch your kerning there Ben, some of the spacing is a little off. Namely the 'HON', 'DEV' & 'IN'. I'd add a little more space between 'Anthony Devlin' and 'Photography' too. Maybe set the line height of Photography to the height of Anthony Devlin? Or 1.5x the line height.

If you want to properly rip off #48 (although I know you've not said you're going to use it) then you need to use a med to semi bold weight for the Christian name and a normal weight on the surname for the 1st line. Then a light weight on the second line. By weight I mean the font weight, such as bold, semi-bold, normal, light, etc. Set the letter spacing on the 1st line very tight with the Christian name and surname change highlighted by a change in contrast / colour rather than a large space between. The second line would then need a very loose letter spacing to simply fill out the entire space.

Has anyone asked who the target market is & what genre of photography you're going for? This can help when designing the logo as you can target the look to something that will appeal to the audience.
