Hi,

I have recently joined a camera club and am looking to mount images for competitions.

I have been recommended a Logan team 424 as a cutter, does anyone have any experiences or views with this, just thought I would check before buying.

Cheers Alex

There is 48" model 655 for sale on another forum I frequent.
Let me know if this may be of any use to you though it is quite large

Many club folks use something as simple as the 424, or even less, but I prefer the Logan 301s for cutting my mounts. Holds the mount, choice of straight or bevelled edge, training video. If you look through Ebay retailers and on the net I would guess you can get it for around £90. The 655 is certainly too big for club photography who tend to limit sizes to around 500x400mm max.

424 will work just fine. I just started doing mounts about 5 months ago with this. Where I bought my mounting board, the guy gave me a few scrap pieces for practising

I haven't wasted a single board yet. Its very easy.

Cheers guys,
I noticed there seem to be two sets 424 or 424-1, the 424 seems to come with a beveled cutter, where I guess the 424-1 seems to be a hand held cutter. I am guessing the beveled one might be the better option for a beginner?
Thanks again, Alex
