Loft conversion progress pictures *UPDATED*

er....very little of this appears to comply with building regs! What happens if a fire happens downstairs whilst watching a movie? - form an orderly queue to go down the ladder? assuming the overspanned floor joists don't collapse
1st! Neat Job - Structurally unsound & Unsafe though!

Errr, welcome. I think :suspect:

That is one of the most random first posts I've seen...

Wayno - I've no idea about building regs but what you've done looks great

Wow, fantastic, i really want my atic doing...... oh your only in chester too ;)

great work mate

Great post about the lack of building regs compliance, I like how everything has moved from the past, our house the boarded loft floor uses 2x4's for under the floor now the loft has always been used and was done during a renovation job about 26 years ago with the intention of it being used so why now is that no longer acceptable? OK TV's have got bigger but they are no longer as heavy, beds weigh the same clothes wardrobes if you can get one to fit. Because our loft is nowhere near current building regs does it need stripping out and redoing to building regs?

surely if that was the case i better get ripping my 1893 house apart and telling the neighbours to do the same..... im guessing that only current building works need to meet current building requirements. i presume as long as it met the regs at the time the work was done then all is well :)
