Non UK Lofoten

Next Feb/Mar I have the chance to either visit Lofoten or Iceland for a week or so. I have read up quite a bit on Iceland but know little of the Lofoten Islands. Anyone been and offer up so good starting points, general info etc. I'm primarily looking at landscapes and northern lights. Any decent photography tours which don't cost the earth worth going to? Do they still do the orca 'safari' i wonder. Quite a few years I looked at that and dreamed of going. There were 3 options, stay on the main boat, going out in small boat, or going IN with the orca. Not sure if this has continued.

Mrs HJ is proposing Lofoten as our 2017 destination, so I'd be very interested to hear of others' experience.
