Hi guys,

Hoping to get out tomorrow for the whole day and learn how to use my D60 properly for a change instead of just snapping away.

I'm looking for good locations for some nice photos, mainly landscapes if I can but i'll take anything that comes my way.

I'll be leaving Glasgow and possibly driving for the east coast to avoid the rain and it would be great if anyone could maybe suggest places to go for a newbie to get some proper use of his camera.

Thanks

Lee

Falkirk Wheel and the canal?

St Andrews and RAF Leuchars?

Dundee docks & Tay Bridge?

Yeah, may try St Andrews, thanks for that

Fringe starts in Edinburgh today, cavalcade tomorrow

Yep tons in edinburgh,the castle,the docks,lots to choose from.:)

Had thought of Edinburgh but it'll be completely heaving.

I'd echo 3 of the suggestions here, because if nothing else, they all follow on one from the other. Falkirk Wheel, the village of Culross which is quaint as hell and then the bridges from the North Queensferry side. And once you're over the bridge a toddle along to St. Andrews is no bother, except that it will be as heaving as Edinburgh.

If everyone is on the dole, then who mans the dole office?

I know it is on the west coast but I think the tall ships are in Greenock tomorrow.

Loch Lomond or Callander are lovley. Down Balmaha/Drymen is nice too.

Hes not from Bathgate ;)
Seriously I lved In Scotland for 20 years .Not far from Bathgate actually and would return tomorrow if i could get a job over there.Plenty of great places for photo shoots as said above

Am I totally missing something here about Bathgate?

Thought you were going out for the day,it will soon be over.:shrug:

Was supposed to be but because my girlfriend is tagging along and she's not really into photography it's a bloody nightmare trying to get her to agree on somewhere:bang::annoyed::bat:, think I'll wait till tomorrow, that way I can get up early, drop her off at her work and then b****r off on my lonesome :D:exit:

Yep always better on your own, nobody to nag you.:thumbs:

why not go west up to loch lomond, balmaha etc....

Didn't want to do the west because of the rain but in the end it didn't bloody matter, never went out if Glasgow, I'm going to the necropolis tomorrow morning and maybe go round Glasgow cathedral, it's my favourite part of the city.

have you ever been to the India Tyre Company building ? its at Inchinnan not far from the airport.

good place to practice photographing buildings etc...

Managed to park in St Leonards, 2 mins walk into park for cavalcade
