Location lighting DVD

Ive heard of it and thought about picking up. Would be interested if anyone has seen it.

I've got it

It's worth buying, but don't expect any deep technical stuff. It's more about creating the two images and building the lights one by one, dealing with location issues, and going through several hours of prep and shooting to create just one image.

Oh, and you'll end up buying a smoke machine once you've watched it ;)

I haven't seen the DVD but have seen drew speak and chatted to him, quirky and really understandable and funny guy, I've been meaning to get this DVD for ages...not every day you hear 'so we rented a badger...'

And yep, smoke machine or smoke bombs... and ranger quadras ;)

So this is really more on image merging?.. Could similar techniques be done in one?

The shot with the badgers is a composite, and would be impossible to shoot in one shot, unless you use stuffed badgers....

The one with the water buffalo isn't a composite but has some editing done.

The editing is all explained by Drew as part of the process, and he shares his lighting diagrams too (hand sketched)

For me it was about taking lot's of different shots and making small adjustments during the shoot to get one great image, because that's all you need just one.
