live view problem

Doing a couple of selfies tonight and i found that i coudn't fire my flash's if i flipped the screen on my 60D and used the live view.It was fine if i set up a pre focused spot and set the self timer to allow me time to get into frame

I attempted to use 603's to fire nissin flash's, has anybody come across this problem before,and is there a fix to it ?

Or is my problem im not using cannon flash's?

sussed it out, i had to disable silent shooting in live view to get it to work, no problem using nissin flash's or the 603's
