Live Earth.......

We should promote change. But how the hell can we do that by encouraging millions to turn their bloody TV's on and watch a concert?

Is it for money? Get these 'celebrities' to dip their hands in their bloody pockets and relieve themselves of a few million instead of asking me for my pennies. I need mine, you can live comfortably without yours, thankyou very much.

Im not stingy when someone is genuinely in need, but I refuse to donate to charities where alot of the money goes on jobs, administration, paper pushing, and basically, wasteful crap.

(Money rant over ;))

As for this concert. Waste of time IMO. How many people can honestly say theyre going to think more about their carbon footprint as a result of this concert?
I bet you many more will be talking about Madonnas snugly fitting pants, and noticable lack of underwear instead....

If people want to do something about global warming and climate change, lobby the people in power. Buying a few local spuds isn't really going to change things is it? Look at china, the US, and global industry, and how much crap they pump out.

So

Joss Stone is playing in the South African Concert, she played Wembley last week at the Diana Concert, Knowsley the day before.......

She's probably used up a years worth of my carbon footprint with all that flying :p

The search for non fossil enviromentaly friendly bio fuel!!

The forests are being cleared at a dramatic rate to make way for palm plantations for the production of palm oil .

For this the world applauds, but do they realise that the native wildlife is being displaced.........no, because the media doesn't bother covering that bit.

Instead of asking people to feed Africa in Live Aid/8 if these performers gave up some of their own personal fortunes of millions to the people who were starving rather than asking the people with less than them to give that'd make a bigger impact.

Raising awareness of carbon emissions by staging multiple carbon guzzling concerts worldwide, is that the definition of irony?....

Thye did say they they had chosen artists who were already in the country, therefore avoiding having them travelling all over the world for this.
 
I was waiting for the police but i didnt see them, so it was a waist of F~:<+<G time for me.
 
Can anyone explain to me why CO2 emissions are bad? I'm sure I learnt at school that trees and plants take in the CO2 and produce oxygen!

duz it really matter? the black eyed peas told me yesterday to cut down my carbon output, so well, they are utterly responsible and highly educated in the subject i dont need any more persuading, after all you NEVER see them driving around in massive 4wd gas guzzlers...
