I'll start...

Manfrotto tripod- I had a 190 tripod well outside of warranty by 5 months that had a leg clamp break. Dealer contacted them and it was shipped FOC for assessment and repaired FOC, no arguments. Arrived with an apologetic note in less than a week. :thankyou:

I snapped the lock off a Peli case, emailed them, there was a pair in first class post the morning after.

Yesterday I emailed a technical query to Gitzo, got a nice helpful reply 10 minutes later.

I emailed Teamwork in London on Friday morning saying I wanted a Gitzo Explorer, within 10 minutes they'd found me a used one, did me a good deal and it arrived first thing Monday.

Emailed black rapid as my sport strap was missing the BRAD strap also my wife's womans strap was not very good and also said the T1 adapters cost alot for what they were
Now waiting for a new BRAD a T1 adapter and a sport strap for my wife as a good will
Very happy with them

Argos
Ever time I've needed to return something.

Black Rapid - I ordered a DR-2 double strap along with some FastnR-T1 bolts from their US website, which worked out cheaper than any UK supplier. I was unhappy with the length of the bolts, fearing for the safety of my camera and they expedited replacements at no cost, with apologies, and let me keep the originals. As it turns out the replacements were identical and further research suggests my fears were unfounded. Still, it was a great response to my fears. Anyway, for belt and braces security I now use threadlocker on the bolts - see next paragraph.

Cotton Carrier - I bought the original chest vest and holster and had an accidental camera release with the holster which let my 5D2, 24-70 and CPL crash to the ground. The filter was smashed and the lens damaged. I got my gear repaired/replaced and did not contact Cotton Carrier. However, without complaining I did write of my problem on another forum as a warning to others to be careful and to follow advice to use threadlocker, which I had not. Cotton Carrier contacted me directly, based on that post, and shipped me a complete replacement of everything bought, with upgraded design and safety features included and some extra bits and bobs. They also reimbursed me in full for the damage to my kit without asking for receipts.

I had a warranty claim that was sorted in good time by Panamoz. It took 11 days from the day I first contacted them to having a brand new lens in my hand. It's a shame their prices have gone up so much though as I'm rather loathe to recommend them any more.

I've also had very good service from Hdew Cameras. When I ordered my 5D3 and told them I needed it for a shoot I had planned for a sunday. They paid the extra for RMSD for a saturday delivery to make sure I got it on time.

Would anyone think it was arrogant if I posted up a story of finding a camera for a customer? As in I tell a story of me giving my idea of customer service?

Okay, story goes as this.

Whilst working in Jessops as a Sales Expert, A chap called Mark popped in (he's actually recently a member on here) and asked about Canon 1DMk4's. After finding out a little bit more about him and what is what he was after, he was kind of out of luck for a couple of reasons. Number one, Canon had just announced their 1DX and the store I worked in weren't aloud to sell pro series bodies to customers.

So we talked a little bit more about alternative suppliers and after explaining he didn't trust eBay and the camera wasn't stocked on Amazon at the time (surprisingly). I said to him that I was a member of a particularly awesome forum (nudge) that had an active classified section run and moderated by both the members and photographers. I reassured him from previous experience that it was a nice place to sell stuff and a particularly easy place to buy from. So I set out keeping my eye out for a low mileage 1dmk4.

After him popping into store and catching up, we got to know each other a little better and then one day, I noticed someone was selling a 1dmk4 in fantastic condition with very little clicks on it. After doing what was needed and agreeing on a price with the seller, we arranged a place to meet up and do a handover. This meant going with Mark to a car park in Dorset to meet the other chap. After nearly 2 hours of driving, chatting and getting to know each other, the hand over was done and Mark had his 1dmk4, a camera which he now seldom relies on and often raves about and prefers for it's incredible performance and build quality to his 5d mk2 and 1d mk2!

Funnily enough, whilst chatting we actually got to know each other quite well and I can say with confidence that we are and have been friends ever since! He is 20 years my senior, but I find him both a very valuable mentor for my photographic career and a valuable friend too! All this from just a small initial conversation at work!

:)

it was regional specific basically, we had flagship stores that sold them and the smaller shops didn't. They were available, but just not in store :)

Sony PS3 support. Bought a used PS3 from CEX which went pop on Boxing Day. Sony swapped it out for a new one in 2 days, then replaced that one over a year later (well out of warranty) when it too died.

John Lewis....... Fridge Freezer (FF) dies a week out of warranty. Went in , spoke nicely they replaced FF with a newer updated one that lasted 3 months.

I then got a teensy weensy bit grumpy (emailed the CEO) after hearing the lady call me a "bloody awkward customer"..... now have a panasonic FF that I can monitor from my phone (why do i need that? - I am 300 miles away and the FF says, ' I am dead') all courtesy of JL..
