Linking Cam to PC

Not sure if this is the right section.

Id there anyway to link the Canon 1Ds camera direct to my PC via the Firewire to dispay images direct on screen as I take them, to check full size pic.

have you tried the software supplied on the disk with the cam. my 40d will shoot tethered with a usb cable and display the image on screen

Yep, using the EOS Utility, click on remote shooting, open DPP and away you go I'm sure you can even set it up for Lightroom to do it too

Go with the software CD. I am using the feature here.

Just as a note, regarding Lightroom, it is possible to setup Lightroom to monitor a directory and automatically import them - so if you do that you can auto-import shots into Lightroom.
