Lines coming up on some scans...what is the problem?

I have had a quick google, but it didn't reveal anything other than turning it on and off

But on some of my scans, I get this, along the bottom third of the image:

What is causing this?? I am using the standard Epson scanning software...

Just posted about this in your other thread on Aldwych - you need to clean the calibration area of your scanner.

Ummm, how? It is the Epson V330...

Edit: I see what it is...

Thanks for that, I will invest in some cleaning fluid for the glass I think...

It's usually just big bits of dust, on the glass and on the holder, that usually mess around with it. I've scanned whole rolls of 120 without realising, to my dismay.

Yeah, I guess that the dust causes a little bit of refraction when the scanner calibrates itself with the hood-light...

Will be even more vigilante with cleaning the glass now...
