I'm not set up properly yet for indoor shots, so this was a bit iffy - an old aeronautical navigation chart with my aviation protractor and manual flight computer (slide rule). Definitely lots of lines and angles.

A good idea which works well.

I had briefly pondered something similar with a maritime navigation chart, dividers and parallel rule. Then I realised I had no idea where I had stashed same! Great minds think alike. I'll reserve that for when we have Coastal Navigation as a theme!

Biggest issue is that I always used to buy laminated charts so that I could rub off my course lines after a flight, but of course the lamination causes reflections and makes the chart bumpy never flat. I had thought still had some old USA charts that are unlaminated, but I guess I threw them out years ago. Shame, they were a nice memento of some great flights.
 
Love that Lindsay, I though of a protractor and compass at first but that is tones better, great Idea.
 
Good idea and certainly fits the theme, do pilots have to know how to use this kit nowadays in case the gps/ipad fails?
 
I think that satisfactorily ticks just about every line and angle box there is!! Great idea for the theme Lindsay.

@nog I believe it is still taught and required, but they have not long ago added use of GPS and electronic maps to the Nav syllabus.
Thankfully I qualified in the USA where the whole thing is less onerous and bureaucratic (imho) yet somehow better - I did more night and instrument flying there for my PPL than you would here, for instance.

No, it's been raining nearly continuously the last week. I did go out today though determined to get something, even shooting as roll of 120 film for the FPOTY while I was at it.

The weather has been most uncooperative. Trouble is, I try to take it into account every Friday morning but then it changes!
 
I went out with the dog today, camera in car, to get "Something Broken", and then forgot to pick up the camera when I got the dog out of the car! So it was a case of "the best camera is the one you have with you" - my iPhone.
Can't decide which to link as I write this, we'll see.
