Lincoln LCE Photo and optics Show

Hopefully if I get finished from work in time. Hope Nikon have a good display because at the Birdfair show it was pretty poor.

The last two years have had good displays from both Nikon and Canon. Plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the latest kit but without the humungous queues experienced at the bigger shows.

I'm going to pop along today, only being about 3 miles away from the place it'd be rude not too. I wont be looking into buying anything major, but another dual harness with wider straps wouldn't go amiss. I missed it last year as I was ill on the day but I'm looking forward to trying a 1Dx out if possible.

Well, I had a very enjoyable couple of hours there earlier. I tried a Canon 800mm L on my 5D3 but realised I'd need a bionic arm to handhold that monster all day. The 24-70 f2.8L MkII was also tested and after having a quick look at the results I have to say it's a very desirable lens, however, as the colder nights are here and I don't fancy sleeping in the garage for the forseeable future it will just have to stay desirable, as will the new 200-400 f4 with 1.4x converter. Oh how I need a substantial lottery win this weekend.

I enjoyed the show. Managed to see what I wanted on the Nikon stand and the assistant was very helpful. First time I have seen the big lenses, £12000:exit:

Yes I too visited with a couple of pals. Thoroughly enjoyed it and only spent £15!!! I must be running scared of Mrs Y. Tried to blag a Canon mug but failed miserably. After all the thousands of of greenies I have thrown that company too.:dummy:

I added to the throng today too.
Warmed with a coffee in the belly and good company, there was certainly plenty to see.
Those canon lenses with the red band on are sooooo desirable, so much better than my earlier ones which must have had 'Unigate' stamped on the bottom....
